Waddington Air Show

On Sunday Grandma, Grandad, Mummy, Daddy, O and I went to Waddington Air Show. We go every year and each year it is the same thing, but we all still like it. The red arrows was my favourite performance of the day.

I did a Challenge where you had to do lots of different activites ( long jump and stuff like that ) run by the British Heart Foundation, I got 229 points, they said 200 was very good and I got more!
After we had walk round the stalls we watched the planes, O loved it.

Playing with the Band

On Saturday I had my first performance with the brass band I am in. We played at our local duck race .It was good fun.

I have just got back from a holiday with my Grandma, Grandad and L (my older brother).

Monday - Today we drove to Camber Sands, Pontins (about half an hour away from Hastings ) and booked in.We spent the rest of the day unpacking and relaxing.

Tuesday - We went to the beach in the morning ( the sea was a bit warm ). Then in the afternoon I went swimming ( to cool down ).

Wednesday - Went to a little town near Camber called Folkstone in the morning and looked round the shops and went swimming again in the pool at Pontins in the afternoon.

Thursday - Today we went back to Hastings and look around the shops ( L went to watch a movie at the cinema ) and for lunch we had fish and chips.

Friday - Came home to find O has a lovely new sand pit ( that he loves).

Sorry there is no pictures.

WW2 Resources

Book Review

Name of the book - The Diary Of A Young Nurse In World War 2

By - Moira Butterfield

Date finished reading book - 17.6.09

Book Rating - 8 out of 10

The main characters - Jean, Cessie, Marge, Matron and Rick.
Storyline - A young girl called Jean goes to work in a hospital in London to help with the growing number of patients from the war. She keeps her diary as much as she can, telling you about nurse exams, her love for Fred Astaire, dealing with WW2 and lots more about what is going on in her life.

My favourite bit - Is when Jean and Rick dance together as Fred Astaire and Rita Hayworth.

Sum it up in a few words - OK, good and interesting.

Would you change the end - No. I think the ending was good and finished at the right time, the end of World War 2.It did explain how long it took for rationing to end, food rations lasted until 1950.

Review - All together this book was a good read. It told you more about WW2 ,what peoples thoughts were about what was going on, how they kept their hopes up and how they improvised things that were on ration eg paint legs to look as if you're wearing stockings, use burnt cork as eyelash mascara and powdered eggs.So if you are doing about WW2 this is a good book to read.

Been Busy

My potatoes are to big to measure now so here is a picture! Hope your potatoes are doing well.

Mummy, O and I went to Lincoln Castle with some of our friends. Friend L and I walked around the castle walls and went up to Lucy Tower.
Here is a picture from our day out at Nottingham's Green Festival (it was very busy).

Green Parent meeting at Rufford Park.

Mummy, Daddy and brothers L and O went on a Green Parent weekend away to the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire. I went on a zip wire, walking and wall climbing. I also met new friend C. We all had a great time.
Also I am now in a Brass Band called Silver Sounds. I am a percussionist in the band. I really like it.
